I’ve focused much of my R&D work on building better, safer and more sustainable batteries. My patent portfolio lies in key areas of energy storage materials — with a special focus on lithium-free systems, sodium-ion technologies and advanced metal-air chemistries.

Hi I’m Christos – an Oxford PhD and ex-ETH Zurich scientist turned deep-techfounder in Switzerland. My day job is to build and scale next-generation energy storage ventures across Europe and China. Alongside this, I dedicate my work to helping younger generations and technical minds translate their expertise into capital, scalable ventures and ownership. Through real-world experience in energy storage, commercialisation and startup building, I guide others from the lab to launch, from career confusion to clarity and from employee mindset to ownership and entrepreneurial execution.

1989 – Born October 22nd in Patras, Greece

Christos’s parents taught him the values of resilience, determination and resourcefulness.

2006 – Where it all started

Before pursuing education, Christos was a professional volleyball athlete – a Balkan and European Beach Volleyball champion, who also represented Greece at the highest level in indoor volleyball.

2013 – Academic foundation

Graduated in the top 5% in Materials Science from the University of Patras, Greece, and published a first peer-reviewed paper.

2016 – Doctoral distinction

Earned a PhD in Energy Storage & Conversion from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, and published five papers (two journal covers) supported by a Marie Curie Fellowship.

2018 – Postdoctoral research innovator

Published first-author postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich. Funded by the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER).

Served as research group leader and lecturer at the University of Zurich, led 10 PhD students, published four peer-reviewed papers.

2021 – R&D leadership & inventor

Served as Head of R&D at a Swiss startup, hired and led 17 senior scientists, raised CHF 8M in funding, launched five lithium-free battery products, filed several patents in next-generation battery technologies and delivered a metal-air battery prototype (image from the Technopark Campus in Lucerne, Switzerland).

2024 – Founder

Founder of Evreka Group operated by the legal entity Evreka Consulting GmbH in Zug, Switzerland, which bridges science, entrepreneurship, and commercialization.
Co-owner of a holding company in next-generation battery energy storage systems (BESS), with operations across Europe and China. The portfolio spans battery energy storage system solutions from kW-scale to multi-MW utility-scale systems.
